The Founder |
In 1995, two American Psychologists, Joseph Luft and Harry Ingram invented a new model of integration and communication, which called the Johari Window model. They developed the model while conducting a research regarding group dynamics at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).
At the same year, UCLA Extension Office published the model in the Proceedings of the Western Training Laboratory in Group Development. Then, it was expanded by Joseph Luft himself. It is worth mentioning that the name of the model, "Johari" created from joining the name of the founders, which are Johari Luft and Harry Ingram. (Jusztin, 2012)
